The Alaska Motor Vehicle Power of Attorney, formally known as “Form 847”, was created by Alaska’s Department of Motor Vehicles. It essentially provides any person or business with the ability to grant powers to an agent so that they can help assist them in the sale, titling, or registration of an automobile. This is accomplished by entering the necessary information into the form and signing the document as directed. For the written instrument to be valid, the signing must happen either in the company of a notary public or a DMV representative.
