The West Virginia Motor Vehicle Power of Attorney is a state-supplied document to make a record of the permissions granted for an alternate individual to gain signing powers for a vehicle, boat, or trailer. The assigned powers will allow the confirmed agent the ability to endorse a title for transfer, apply for a duplicate title, and/or submit an odometer disclosure as needed. The limited power transferred by the paperwork does not establish a determined expiration date of the arrangement but can be nullified by way of a standard revocation of power of attorney agreement. Execution of the commitment and passing of controls does not obligate a notary to officiate the signature process to be deemed authentic.
