The Utah Motor Vehicle Power of Attorney passes controls related to a named vehicle from a legal owner to an appointed agent. The granted agency is reserved to allow a secondary individual the right to take action and sign for transactions and administrative responsibilities related to the automobile. The assigned attorney-in-fact is conveyed powers to:
- Transfer Ownership of the Vehicle
- Register the Vehicle
- Title/License the Vehicle
- Endorse and Prepare Documentation Regarding the Vehicle
The provided form can also be utilized to endow authority to another concerning a trailer or associated equipment. The vehicle owner must include their social security number and date of birth or, for business-owned vehicles, the identifying federal ID number for the company. Execution of the filing does not require a practicing notary’s assistance, but notarization can further support the commitment’s authenticity.
