The Nebraska Motor Vehicle Power of Attorney formally warrants a named individual to receive established controls to transact in place of an owner in areas related to the indicated automobile. In situations where a vehicle owner wishes to allot signing and acting privileges to a designated agent, the provided document can assist in creating the legally binding arrangement. For cases involving commercial vehicles that travel internationally and/or through multiple states, the Nebraska Department of Motor Vehicles has provided a separate POA form to issue authorized agency regarding a vehicle participating in the IRP or IFTA programs.

Signing Requirements – To properly institute the granted permissions, notary acknowledgment must be recorded at the time of the agreement’s execution (§ 30.4005).
