The Maryland Real Estate Power of Attorney is an exclusive document designed for the sole purpose of granting an agent the authority to accomplish real property dealings on your behalf. The right to buy, sell, lease, finance, and manage are just a few of the functions that can be authorized with this use of this form. To make this document effective, the appointing party will have to furnish the form with details concerning the participating individuals, initial each action that they want to be carried out in their place, and sign it in the presence of witnesses and an individual possessing notarial power.

Statutes – Maryland Power of Attorney Act (§ 17-101 – § 17-204)
Definition – “Power of attorney” means a writing or other record that grants authority to an agent to act in the place of the principal, whether or not the term “power of attorney” is used (§ 17-101(d)).
