The New Mexico sublease agreement lets tenants who have an existing rental contract sublet the premises to another party for the remainder of the term. Although, the original occupant should select their subtenant carefully as they are still responsible for the stipulations made in the primary agreement. Once a viable subtenant has been chosen, the parties can then fill out the form with the needed info and sign below to ensure the validity of the contract. Some of the details that should be sorted out and inserted into the form include the time span in which the sublessee will take possession, the amount of the upfront deposit for damages/unpaid costs, and the figure for the monthly (or weekly) rent expenses.

(Note: Sublessors must first attain the approval of the original landlord in order to lawfully sublet the premises.)
