The Oklahoma Minor Child Power of Attorney is a contractual preparation devised for the parent of a child to apportion parental rights to another person temporarily. Should circumstances develop where a parent or parents of a minor will be absent on a short-term basis, the option to grant powers to another adult to care for the child may be an ideal course of action to take. This can be beneficial for a parent that unavailable because of a vacation, military service, or imprisonment. The state of Oklahoma specifies a limitation on the gained permissions that can not exceed a year. For cases where a longer-term arrangement is necessary, the involved parties can alternatively seek guardianship of the child.
