North Carolina Minor Child Power of Attorney Form

1,475 Downloads

The North Carolina Minor Child Power of Attorney delineates the terms and conditions regarding the extension of named authorizations issued to an individual by the parent to temporarily care for and sign for a minor. Many states honor this version of the POA to allow parents to nominate an agent to act on their behalf concerning their child when they are absent for a short-term basis. North Carolina does not necessarily have a particular law upholding the granted general POA arrangement, but it does provide a state form to bestow parental rights concerning health care decisions for a minor. The Authorization to Consent to Health Care for a Minor is made available to endow medical treatment controls to act in place of a parent for a term of fewer than six (6) months. For parents seeking longer-term arrangements, temporary or permanent guardianship may be considered by filing an Application for the Appointment of Guardian for a Minor through the North Carolina court system.
