The North Carolina Minor Child Power of Attorney delineates the terms and conditions regarding the extension of named authorizations issued to an individual by the parent to temporarily care for and sign for a minor. Many states honor this version of the POA to allow parents to nominate an agent to act on their behalf concerning their child when they are absent for a short-term basis. Definitions – “Minor or Minor Child” means an individual who has not attained the age of 18 years and who has not been emancipated (§ 32A-29(6)).
