The Massachusetts Limited (Special) Power of Attorney essentially allows the assigning party to design their own POA by writing in the exact powers that they wish to distribute. This feature is unlike some of the more generic versions of the document that simply list broad categories that the executor has to pick and choose from. Grantors can commence the principal-agent relationship by writing in the names & addresses of both parties, a description of each authority, and the details concerning the document’s term. Following the supplementation of said information, it is advised that the principal provide their signature in front of two (2) witnessing parties and/or a notary public as proof of their conveyance.
