The Connecticut Motor Vehicle Power of Attorney (Form A-83) is utilized when someone wishes to have another person represent them in a transaction related to an automobile’s titling, registration, or transfer. With the implementation of this form, the attorney-in-fact can gain permission to acquire and sign vehicle documents on behalf of the owner. To create an active POA, the principal (individual conveying the powers) will have to provide their name as well as the appointed party’s, the date of the document’s execution, and their signature as demanded by the state’s code of law. Alternate Connecticut DMV forms are available below to issue powers of attorney in cases where vehicles and/or vehicle parts are to be salvaged (Form A-90), or if a lienholder loses the title for the vehicle (Form H-117).
