The Washington rental application is a key document that should be dispersed anytime an individual requests to lease a particular property. When a property is available for lease, landlords/management companies will usually want to vet all potential prospects to make sure that their selection is equipped to rent. What qualifies prospective tenants as equipped to rent? Individuals responsible for leasing a house, apartment, condo, etc. should continually ask the following questions:

  • Does the individual who is looking to occupy the premises have a stable financial position?
    • It is important to ensure that the renter is currently employed and has a consistent income stream.
  • Do they have a reputable tenancy record?
    • Complaints from former landlords could be a red flag for future issues with an occupant.
  • Does the applicant have credit problems?
    • Poor credit history could mean that the individual applying has debt that could interfere with rent payments.

Luckily, this form encompasses all of the previously mentioned questions (amongst others) and can truly assist in choosing the right tenant. (It is standard protocol for landlords/management to charge a fee for processing the information provided within the form.)
