- Completed Vehicle Registration Application (Form BA-49)
- Driver’s License or Other ID
- Lien Holder Information and Financing Statement: Required if the vehicle is leased or financed.
- New Jersey Insurance Card or Insurance Company Name and Policy Number
Out-of-State Purchase
- Application for Certificate of Ownership: Required if the vehicle is transferred from another state.
- Seller’s Notarized Statement & Last Registration Card: Required if the vehicle is transferred from a state that does not issue titles and must include the year manufactured, make, VIN, and selling price.
Notes
- New Jersey says to schedule an appointment for a new title or registration, and notes no walk-ins.
