The Michigan Limited (Special) Power of Attorney is a more restrictive document that provides users with the opportunity to establish their own authority that they wish to convey. The primary types of POAs typically offer broad sweeping powers that may exceed the range of control that the principal wants to provide. Using this version, the principal can specify exactly what they want to be carried out on their behalf thus limiting the amount of access their agent will have. Individuals may put this into effect by writing in the names of the parties taking part in the agreement, describing the powers that are to be bestowed, and choosing a time limit in which the relationship will continue. This will all be finalized by signing the instrument along with two (2) witnesses and/or notary public to solidify the terms of the conveyance.
