The Hawaii Revocation of Power of Attorney annuls the authority granted in an existing document. The principal of a POA always reserves the right to cancel it at any time should they wish to do so. With that being said, the proper way to accomplish a nullification of the previous terms is to declare it, in writing, with the use of this document and to endorse it for confirmation (preferably in the presence of witnesses and/or a notary public). The only requirements needed for the instrument include:
- Names of the Principal & Agent (and Successor Agent if applicable)
- Type, Title, & Execution Date of the Former POA
- Signature of the Principal
(Upon the completion of the document, the revoking party should issue copies to their attorney-in-fact and any other party who may be affected by the termination.)
