The Texas General (Financial) Power of Attorney is the non-durable version of the state’s statutory form. This means that it possesses all the same options that are available in the durable POA, minus the fact that it will expire upon the principal’s subsequent disability or incapacity. This is useful for scenarios where the principal is not available to execute an important action (such as signing a contract, making a payment, selling property, etc.) and needs an agent to act on their behalf. To issue such a document, the conveyor of authority will be requested to furnish the name of their attorney-in-fact, indicate which powers are to be delivered, and endorse the form as needed.
