Statutes – Code of Alabama – Natural Death Act (§ 22-8A-1 – 22-8A-9)
Definition – “Advance directive for health care” means a writing executed in accordance with Section 22-8A-4 which may include a living will, the appointment of a health care proxy, or both such living will and appointment of a health care proxy (§ 22-8A-3(3)).
Signing Requirements – The document requires verified signatures from the principal and two (2) disinterested witnesses to create enforceability of the arrangement (§ 22-8A-4(c)(4)).
