State Laws

Minimum Termination: The landlord or tenant may terminate a month-to-month lease by providing at least 28 days’ written notice prior to the end of the rent-paying period (§ 704.19(3)).

Increasing Rent: There are no caps on how much or how often landlords can increase rent in Wisconsin (§ 66.1015(1)). Landlords must provide at least 28 days’ written notice before a rent increase can take effect at the start of a scheduled rent-paying period, which is usually the first day of the month (§ 704.19(3)).
