State Laws

Minimum Termination: Landlords and tenants can end a month-to-month lease with 30 days’ written notice (§ 27-40-770(b)).

Increasing Rent: South Carolina has no caps on rent increases. Landlords must provide 30 days’ written notice before a higher rent rate can take effect (§ 27-40-770(b)).
