Firearm Registration Forms

Missouri does not list a requirement of registration, permit before purchase or owner’s license for any firearm obtained by a residing individual. The obligation of passing a standard background check is not necessary for any stipulated private party sale. Permitless carry took effect in January of 2017, allowing one to carry openly or concealed in acceptable territory without a permit. Should an individual wish to obtain a Conceal and Carry Permit for weapon transport across state lines, you can gather the following to hand in at your county sheriff’s location:

  • A filed Missouri Conceal and Carry Permit Application
  • Proof of completion of a required firearm safety course
  • An active Missouri State driver’s license or ID card
  • An original fingerprint identification card for the applicant
  • Evidence of residency within the state of Missouri
  • Adequate compensation for all permit fees
