How to Register a Vehicle
Once you have purchased your new vehicle, you have up to 60 days to have it registered. Visit your local OMV(Office of Motor Vehicle) or online (passenger cars only) and be sure to bring the following items:
- Bill of Sale (Form 10-313) or another primary document.
- Federal Odometer Statement (Bill of Sale)
- Insurance Card with at least the minimum coverage:
- $25,000 for bodily injury or death of one person
- $50,000 for bodily injury or death per accident
- $25,000 for property damage
- Primary Document (Arkansas Title, Manufacturer Statement of Origin, or Out-of-State Title)
You may also need (if applicable):
- Current Year County Tax Assessment
- Lien Contract / Security Agreement
- Personal Property Tax Number (PPAN)
- Proof of Paid Tax Receipt
Out-of-State Purchase
- Out-of-State Title (as a primary ownership document)
Important Notes:
- Only passenger vehicles (cars, pickup trucks, vans, motor homes) can be registered online.
- If transferring a plate, the current registration must be active.
- A Title Purpose Only Certificate (TPOC) does not require insurance and does not issue a license plate.

Boat (Vessel) Registration Forms
Any party looking to register their boat must be prepared to present the following requirements to an authorized agent:
- Proof of Ownership:
- Bill of Sale
- The Vessel’s Title
- Most Recent Registration
- Documentation confirming that the boat has been assessed by a qualified county assessor.
- Sufficient proof that all required property taxes have been satisfied.
- Proof that the owner has an active liability insurance plan for the vessel.
- Individuals registering the watercraft must have the proper funds to cover the cost of registration.
Firearm Registration Forms
Arkansas does not stipulate that its residents have to register their firearms with local government officials. If an individual would like to acquire a permit to carry, they must achieve the following:
- Either apply online or using a physical application form.
- Complete and provide documentation confirming the passing of a CHCL training course.
- Provide 2 sets of fingerprints taken by an authorized agent.
- Supply the necessary monies to cover the application fees.
