State Laws

Minimum Termination: The tenant or landlord can terminate a month-to-month lease by providing at least 30 days’ written notice prior to the end of the current monthly period (§ 83.57).

Increasing Rent: There are no statewide or local caps on rent increases in Florida (§ 166.043 & § 125.0103). Landlords must provide at least 30 days’ written notice to alter the terms of the lease and raise the rent for the following month (§ 83.57).
